While deciding on a Caribbean destination, we stumbled upon Cuba. At first, we were not sure of the Destination, but we always wanted to go there. Having heard so much about this place which seemed not to have a good internet connection or excellent facilities, we were looking for options. Having done quite a bit more research, we fell for Cuba for its safety and people. I contacted a few friends about how and where they would recommend it, and we had an idea of the trip we wanted. My friend approached a few companies to help us sort this trip as we are not backpackers and don’t like the hassle of doing things there; our Spanish being next to none, we wanted to have everything booked for us. We came across Travelfab, which helped us with exactly what we wanted. They even handled our Cuba Visa, which seemed more complicated if we travelled via the USA, but we decided to go directly with Virgin Atlantic (direct non-stop flights). To summarise, our Cuba Holiday was Fabulous; it undoubtedly surpassed our expectations, there were lovely people, and the food was good; not sure why so many people complain about this; we had the happy go lucky attitude, and we certainly enjoyed the music-dancing and exploring the decayed towns where despite the conditions, seemed happy and on a good mood. Put it this way; it is not Dubai or Asia but a very authentic destination. Travel with an open mind, and be sure to enjoy the simple small things.
